Working with MGNY
How MGNY handles an ICAP filing
If your project qualifies, we file and carry the whole ICAP lifecycle so the benefit actually lands. If it does not qualify, we tell you that early instead of billing you to find out slowly.
The four stages
Eligibility confirmed, benefit sized, fee quoted
One call starts it. We confirm eligibility against the full record rather than four answers, size the benefit from your project's actual figures, and quote the fee. You know where you stand before any filing exists.
Preliminary application, before your first permit
We prepare and file the preliminary ICAP application with the Department of Finance ahead of your permit date. Where the construction cost requires it, the M/WBE solicitation and its compliance report are handled as part of the same filing.
The filings through construction
Within a year of the permit comes the final application, the project description and the hard construction cost breakdown, and at larger project sizes the employment and compliance reports that ride along. Each has its own clock, and missing one is how granted benefits get lost.
Benefits land, and keep landing
After DOF approves, the abatement runs on its statutory schedule, and the program still asks for filings across those years, including the biennial certificate of continuing use. The same team that filed the application keeps the benefit alive.
